An outstanding opportunity exists for a capable Finance Manager to join Skytraders, Australia's world-leading Antarctic aircraft operator and provider of specialist aviation services to Government. This is an office-based role located at our modern Corporate Office facility in Paddington (Sydney), that reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
To be successful in this role you will be an enthusiastic and confident individual who demonstrates initiative, a mature attitude, and a high level of technical and analytical skills. We are seeking someone who has a desire to work collaboratively in a team environment whilst also taking charge of their function. Aviation industry experience is key.
The role:
Preparing monthly management reports (Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet)
Analysis of business performance and contract pricing
Assisting CFO with the preparation of reports for the Board
Assisting with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and tender documents
Supporting the annual external audit process and preparation of taxation returns
Maintenance of general ledger accounts, month end journals, and accruals
Maintenance of fixed assets ledger
Preparing contract billings and flight reports for clients
Supporting the annual external audit process and preparation of taxation returns
Working with the Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Engineering, and Operations functions as required
Projects covering finance, operational and strategic planning, and business cases
Liaising with personnel based in Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart, and Nowra

Base salary of up to $125,000 pa + super, depending on experience

Selection Criteria:
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the ideal candidate will possess:
Commercial accounting & taxation experience of 3+ years
University Degree or equivalent finance qualification
CPA / CA (or equivalent) membership
Advanced Microsoft Excel & Word skills
Familiarity with Xero, Light Year systems
Highly developed communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to independently prioritise work and meet deadlines
Customer service skills
Aviation industry experience
