Client note:
• Looking for a qualified mechanical engineer, who has previous experience in CNC machining, practical hands-on work in a CNC manufacturing facility, and a degree in mechanical engineering.
• Any candidate presented to us must have 3D CAD – Solidworks Simulation Software experience as well as an experience in gas dynamics.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• This position is responsible for the design and management of automated CNC metal cutting and material handling solutions.
• The primary role of this position is to be the lead mechanical design engineer for one or more machine lines in the Messer Cutting Systems\' product portfolio.
• Working with the sales team and product managers to continuously innovate the assigned machine line.
• Creating building layouts showing a customer\'s machine or potential machine inside their facility.
• Developing bills of materials and drawings containing all the required components needed to fulfill a customer order.
• Designing and integrating new processes into the assigned machine line.
• These processes can range from drilling/milling, laser cutting, plasma cutting, marking, material handling and more.
• Validating designs using tools such as FEA, in-person testing, and other analytical methods.
• Supporting manufacturing during the machine build phase.
• This includes answering questions on the manufacturing floor and writing engineering change orders to document changes; and Ensuring customer satisfaction after a machine has been delivered by working with the Messer After Sales team.
• Other essential duties include, but are not limited to:
• Continuous improvement and lean event participation
• Assisting other engineers with checking and design validation
• Working closely with other departments to see large projects through to completion; and Adherence to regulations and standards in the metal cutting and machine automation industry.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor\'s degree in mechanical engineering Experience/strong interest in machine design and automation
• Strong problem-solving capability with personal flexibility Knowledge of applying Stress/Deflection principles, emphasizing the resolution of issues caused by force and acceleration.
• Knowledge of creating machining details and weldments using ferrous and non-ferrous materials Gas/fluid system controls Design automation with linear motion, drive sizing, and pinion selection.
• The ability to conduct and execute FMEA and GD&T MS Office, 3D CAD - SolidWorks, and SolidWorks Simulation Software a Plus Preferred 3D CAD in Solidworks and some basic 2D AutoCAD Experience with product development and a strong understanding of industrial product design and commercialization with respect to lean manufacturing Knowledge and experience in gas dynamics, material science, and the steel-cutting industry.
• Experience in value engineering and cost reduction-related product design and manufacturing.
