Access to this program will be available automatically after 12 months ofcontinuous service and payments are made at the end of each financial year, unless of course you blow our socks off and you may get access to sooner!A BIT ABOUT THE ROLEThe successful applicant, who is ideally a mid - senior level database developer; will have strong technical expertise, with a focus on the generation of big data for use by others for modelling purposes. Our dataset is spread across a large Cassandra Cluster, Hadoop Cluster and a large Oracle database WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED:Demonstrated experience in: Designing and implementing new systems and improvements of existing systems using Oracle database technology as well as BigData technology notably Kafka/Cassandra. Setting up of schema, tables and associated data loading processes Providing data on time and with the expected level of aggregation/quality. Providing support and expertise to other team members and colleagues in relation to loading and making available data wither in Oracle or Hadoop. Implementing, extending, replacing and maintaining software to load, transform, extract and validate data. Implementing, extending, replacing and maintaining software to monitor and report on the above processes and ensure the integrity of data. SQL and PL/SQL. Kafka/Cassandra.Writing process documentation including, but not limited to, requirements specifications, design descriptions, code operation and testing. Supporting and extending the analysis of data and make recommendations relating to the performance and efficiency of data storage. Monitoring the effective use Oracle features. Supporting and extending the analysis of data and make recommendations relating to the performance and efficiency of BigData processing.
