Job Description: Mermaid Swim Academy is the swim school at Bondi Icebergs Pool; operating for over 13 years teaching all levels from Babies, Learn to Swim, Development and Junior Squads. We are currently looking for swim instructors and experienced coaches. Our upcoming season commences in October and runs until June. Mermaid Swim Academy runs both term and holiday intensives throughout the school holidays. We are a fun; ocean loving, nurturing swim school that have unique ways of delivering and teaching swimming lessons. We are looking for individuals who are experienced swim teachers with a love for teaching swimming (children in particular). The right candidate will be open to new ideas on how swimming is taught, love the outdoors and saltwater! Job Tasks/Desired Qualities: Thorough knowledge and application of teaching swimming and water safety skills Adapt your teaching approach to the age, experience and ability of students and easily progress their skills throughout a course of lessons Experience in teaching young children as well as babies toddlers highly desirable Surf awareness and surf skills such as surf club competitions and/or surf coaching skills are a bonus Prepare and tidy up equipment used for teaching Participate in regular in-house instructor training sessions Always be punctual Have a professional attitude towards teaching, self presentation and communication with others Thrive on being an enthusiastic team player Motivated and driven to provide excellent service and get results Client service experience is an asset Requirements/Qualifications: Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (minimum 12 months experience) First Aid Certificate CPR Certificate Working With Children Check Be available to work weekdays - morning and afternoons and Saturdays
