We are currently seeking a gifted individual to join our UV Emitter team to be responsible for leading: the evaluation of Silannas UV emitter products in sub-systems (e.g. water treatment, air treatment, surface treatment, curing) customer application support, including technical documentation, test boards, reference designs and field support the UV emitter design in activity in collaboration with the Sales and Marketing team To be considered for this new role applicants will hold a degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent, possess 5-10 years experience in optical or photonic products such as LEDs, laser diodes and photo-detectors (preferably UV LEDs) and 5 years experience in application support. Candidates will also be able to demonstrate experience of or be familiar with: setting up an application engineering lab board simulation using Altium or similar tools board design, schematic capture and layout design application boards and reference designs, including their assembly and test Key responsibilities include: Drive design-in of Silanna UV emitter products at targeted customers Lead customer demonstrations and conference technical presentations Provide technical support and develop close relationship with customers Analyse and test customer sub-systems to optimize performance and cost Understand and translate market and customer requirements into product specifications Perform technical competitive analysis Design test boards to characterize UV emitter products in the sub-system environment and benchmark against products Apply computer simulators to evaluate product performance in applications Provide guidance to Product Design on product optimization Prepare product support documents (e.g. application notes, design guide) Support Product Engineering by implementing electrical and optical testing of products Create development kit and reference designs as well as the appropriate support documentation Proactively work with other departments including product marketing, engineering, test, and failure analysis to resolve customer issues Reporting to the VP, UV Emitters, the ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to successfully manage customer relationships, work with minimal supervision as part of an international team, whilst influencing cross-functional teams. This role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, high initiative, technical aptitude and creativity in addition to flexibly managing time, priorities and multiple projects. Please note this position requires periodic international travel for customer support.
