If this is you..... Partner in your Care (PIYC) is looking for casual Mental Health Workers to join our team. Partner in your Care staff members provide support to clients who have depression, anxiety and disability with mental health. It would involve you having the flexibility to work across multiple site locations across the Western Sydney and Parramatta area and in a community setting. We are looking for committed people who are experienced in providing support to access the wider community. To be successful, you will need well developed interpersonal skills and you will need good communication (both written and verbal) skills and the ability to follow the routines and protocols in the setting in which you work.
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will work in the community to support people accessing our services who have lived an experience of mental health issues to achieve their hopes and dreams. You will play an important part in assisting people to maintain wellness and realise their goals. On a day to day basis you will:
Listen to and create opportunities and activities that meet the interests and goals of people. Ensure that individual support is provided to a person that accesses Partner in your Care services that meets their recovery journey goals and is strengths based and led by the person wherever possible. Be ''hands on'' and involved in direct service delivery As this is a challenging role we are looking for applicants who:
  • Have the ability to engage with all different personalities to provide support and encouragement
  • Be able to manage challenging behaviours as they arise
  • Providing positive emotional support to clients
  • Implementation of specialized client care plans
  • Delivering on behavioural support plans and ensuring consistent approaches are taken in line with other workers for the specific client
  • Have outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Willing to commit to a variety of different shifts
  • Willingness to travel to different locations as required
To be considered for the role YOU MUST HAVE the following:
  • Cert III in Mental Health/ Community services or equivalent or willing to obtain within 12 mths
  • Drivers licence and own reliable transport
  • The right to work in Australia
  • Current Working with children checks, Police check, First Aid Certificate and 100 points of ID
  • Reference checks within the sector

Please note- Successful candidates must maintain a Class C driver''s licence as you may be directed to use your private motor vehicle in the course of performing your duties when an organisational pool motor vehicle is not available. Proof of registration and insurance must be provided when required. You will receive payment of a Km Allowance when using your private vehicle for work related purposes.
