Maintenance Electrician

Pay: $35.52

Unionized Facility 

Rotating Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 3:30pm; Monday - Thursday, 4:00pm - 2:00am.

 

Job Overview:

The Maintenance Electrician is a full-time position, responsible for installing, inspecting, adjusting, and repairing equipment. You will be required to maintain equipment to the required standards and be responsive to production needs and equipment failures. You will work as part of a team and independently.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Adhering to all workplace safety policies, LOTO procedures, compliances, and regulations
  • Reading diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain ,and repair industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems and other related devices
  • Ensuring safety devices are functioning properly after completing repairs modifications or installations
  • Assist in the inspection, testing, adjusting, and evaluation of new systems
  • Execute preventative maintenance activities including troubleshooting and repairs
  • Utilize the computerized maintenance management system for processing work orders, PMs and updating the equipment databases
  • Support local and corporate objectives including health & safety, productivity, continuous improvement, innovation, quality, waste, and 5S

 

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in an electrical, electronic, or instrumentation program with 309A or 442A Electrical Certification
  • 3+ years of experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of CNC equipment is an asset
  • Proven experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, Siemens/Moore DCS, AC, and DC drive systems
  • Ability to operate specialized vehicles such as forklifts, scissor lifts, man lifts, etc.
  • Able to lift 33lbs, negotiate inclines, stairs, ladders, and scaffolding.
  • Able to perform physically demanding activities. The job requires bending, kneeling, crawling, standing, working from heights, and in confined spaces for extended periods of time.
  • Willing to work extended hours when required including nights, weekends, on-call, and holidays
  • Willingness to cross-train in another trade
  • Must enroll in the Canadian Controlled Goods Program
