The Director of Nursing is responsible for the planning, development and overall operation of the Nursing Department which ensures Residents receive quality care 24 hours a day. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities ·       Keeping patient and employee records updated and accurate. ·       Performs the duties of the DON during the Director's absence from the facility ·       Implements nursing policies and procedures that reflect facility mission and philosophy ·       Conducts education, infection control, quality assurance and admission screening functions as assigned ·       Utilizes resources in an efficient and economic manner to ensure that each resident achieves the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being ·       Responsible for making daily rounds on unit to supervise, observe, examine, interview residents, evaluate staffing needs, monitor regulatory compliance, to achieve the care environment and to evaluate staff interactions and clinical skills competency ·       Screens prospective admissions for level of care and anticipated needs required by federal regulations.
