Summary of responsibilities: To assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, developing and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Service Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the facility. Maintain goals and objectives for quality resident care consistent with facility and corporate goals and objectives. Coordinates services effecting resident care, working with other department and health care team members to provide the best quality resident care through involvement in patient care planning. Completes wound rounds as assigned with recommendations of care. Counsel personnel as requested or advised following necessary policy & procedures. Assists in the recruitment, interviewing, selection and onboarding pre-employment process for department personnel.
