For more information, visit&nbsp;cherokee-federal.com.<br /> <br /> <br /> <strong>SUMMARY</strong><br /> We seek a Technical Writer to support the U.S. Coast Guard&rsquo;s Surface Forces Logistics Center&rsquo;s (SFLC) Technical Information Management Branch by providing life cycle management support of technical publications.<br /> <br /> <strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong><br /> Includes the following:</p> <ul> <li>Develop, publish, amend, and maintain technical publications used to support the Coast Guard.</li> <li>Attend Meetings and Conferences as directed by the Contracting Officer&rsquo;s Rep. (COR).</li> <li>Complete other ad-hoc requests for technical data as required.</li> </ul> <br /> <strong>SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY</strong><br /> None.<br /> <br /> <strong>EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE</strong> <ul> <li>Minimum education requirement: Bachelor&rsquo;s degree; at least five (5) years of technical job-related experience; or a combination of knowledge and experience.</li> </ul> <br /> <strong>Requirements</strong><br /> The individuals shall possess the listed qualifications to assist the SFLC TIMB with the development, conversion, and sustainment of Illustrated Parts Breakdowns: <ul> <li>Have experience developing and revising HTML content using Notepad, Microsoft Expressions Web, or equivalent as supported by the USCG about Illustrated Parts Breakdowns (IPB).</li> <li>Have experience creating/modifying graphics, drawings, and illustrations using software tools such as AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, SnagIT, or other equivalents.</li> <li>Experience in writing, editing, and managing technical documentation and operator/maintenance manuals for military systems and equipment.</li> <li>Must be able to conceptualize, format, structure, write, edit and finalize technical manuals, orders, specifications, modification work orders, test plans, procedures, and results.</li> </ul> <br /> <strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES</strong> <ul> <li>Have the ability to pass a NACI background investigation and obtain a government-issued Common Access Card (CAC) to access USCG IT systems and facilities.</li> <li>Demonstrate good written communication skills and organizational abilities.</li> <li>Working knowledge of word processing and integrated software applications.</li> <li>Gain an understanding of ASD - S1000D, the International Specification for Technical Publications utilizing a Common Source Database (CSDB).</li> <li>Ability to work independently with little oversight by the government under a technical lead in the Technical Information management Branch (TIMB)Visual Information Team.</li> <li>Pass a drug screen, and a federal background check is mandatory.</li> </ul> <p><br /> <strong>WORK ENVIRONMENT</strong><br /> The Technical Information Management Branch is a part of the Surface Forces Logistics Center&rsquo;s located in Baltimore, Maryland.<br /> <br /> <strong>(Temporarily&nbsp;telework).</strong><br /> Climate controlled office work environment.</p>
