Underground Utility Worker

<p>Seeking contractors with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and customer service experience to perform drop buries of coax and fiber optic cable to homes and businesses.</p> <p>This position may also require bores under sidewalks, driveways, and streets.</p> <p>If you are self-motivated, customer-oriented, and willing to take on new challenges every day then we would love to hear from you!</p> <p><strong>Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Must have a valid driver&#39;s license</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Must have a Truck, Van, or SUV, along with active vehicle insurance</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Must have all required tools to complete these jobs on time and correctly</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Must be able to pass a background check that includes a criminal record, driving record, and must be able to pass a drug test</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Must be authorized to work in the United States</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Must carry active General Liability Insurance before working</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Positive, courteous and pleasant interpersonal skills when working with customers</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Must be able to stoop, crawl, bend at knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs. or more to include body weight, equipment, tools, wire spools, boxes, etc</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Ability to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, crawl spaces, etc.).</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Must be flexible to work long and/or unpredictable hours</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Maintain a safe work environment by following codes, standards, and regulations</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Must be able to keep accurate notation of completed work and submit to dispatch in a timely manner via a smartphone application</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>1-2 years of experience digging in both standard and high-risk residential and commercial areas to include live and operational utilities</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Experience with drop bury in standard underground installations.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Experience in handling and splicing cable to include coax, copper, and fiber optic.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Basic understanding of customer premise network.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Related Work Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Telecommunications Installation/Service</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Irrigation Installation</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Foundation Repair</li> </ul> <p><strong>Position Type: 1099, Independent Contractor</strong></p> <p><em>United Smart Tech is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
