BioMedical Equipment Technician Temporary Staffing Position

<ul> <li>The Candidate shall have knowledge in Preventive maintenance services to complete preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) repairs on equipment identified by the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) in accordance with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and Biomedical Engineering&rsquo;s standard procedures.</li> <li>The Candidate shall perform repairs using accepted repair practices while maintaining high standards of equipment performance and safety.</li> <li>The Candidate shall assist in-house Biomedical Equipment Support Specialists with maintenance and repair of complex electronic and medical equipment and systems as necessary.</li> <li>The Candidate shall assist in-house Biomedical Engineers with cabling and gang box installations for Biomedical Equipment projects as necessary. Contractor will follow facility Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) procedures and supply infection control isolation equipment for installations.</li> <li>The Candidate shall notify COR of any repair or preventative maintenance services that must be completed by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).</li> <li>The Candidate shall document all work completed with a work order report per Biomedical Engineering&rsquo;s standard operating procedure.</li> <li>The Candidate should use regularly reports equipment and job statuses to COR, Biomedical Engineer, and/or Biomedical Engineering Support Staff (BESS) in Healthcare Technology Management (HTM).</li> <li>The Candidate facilitates with Cerner-medical device integration parameter testing efforts, medical device configurations and Cerner Connectivity Engine (CCE) configurations required for Bedside Medical Device Interface (BMDI) solutions.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Upon completion of services, Biomedical Technician shall provide a Field Service Report (FSR) to the VISN 2 HTM POC at the facility where the work was performed, which details information regarding the cause of the equipment malfunction and corrective action taken for CMs/repairs, as well as steps performed to complete the PMs, if applicable. Number of hours spent for the CM/PM will be recorded as well in the FSR, as well as identification of any parts changed/installed.</p> <p><br /> QUALITY ASSURANCE TASKS:</p> <p>Biomedical Technician will be asked to perform quality assurance (QA) on the work that has been completed in accordance with OEM specifications. This will include reviewing existing work performed to ensure PM steps and/or repairs are being done as required as per OEM specs. If any discrepancies are found, the Biomedical Technician will immediately notify and provide discrepancy documentation such as photographs/timestamps to the IAW.</p> <p><br /> <strong>EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Associate degree or higher, or equivalent, as an electronics technician and/or BMET</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>CERTIFICATION:</strong></p> <ul> <li>BMET Certified/ Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET).</li> </ul> <p><strong>MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>The Candidate should have minimum of three (3) years hospital/healthcare experience performing medical equipment maintenance</li> <li>The Candidate should have proven evidence of training, certifications, experience, and other qualifications for each biomedical engineering technician performing services under this contract.</li> <li>The Candidate should have proven evidence servicing a list of types of equipment on which have experience performing preventative and corrective maintenance<strong>.</strong></li> </ul>
