Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Application Development Manager to oversee our software development projects and teams. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a team of developers, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality applications, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders. The Application Development Manager will play a crucial role in driving innovation, implementing best practices, and fostering a collaborative development environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage a team of software developers, providing guidance and support throughout the development lifecycle. Develop and implement software development plans, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and priorities. Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications, ensuring quality and adherence to project timelines. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define project scope, and prioritize development tasks. Implement best practices for software development, including coding standards, version control, and documentation. Monitor and analyze application performance metrics, identifying areas for optimization and improvement. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, incorporating relevant innovations into the development process. Ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements in software development activities. Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP) are a plus. At least 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams, and delivering high-quality software for customers. At least 5+ years of hands-on experience developing enterprise-grade software. Demonstrated success in people leadership in software development, particularly using an Agile process and leading with a DevOps approach for continuous integration and delivery. A sense of personal ownership and accountability is required, along with the ability to deliver to deadlines while managing internal stakeholder expectations. Ability to communicate technical details clearly across organizational boundaries. Experience in leading scrum meetings, sprint planning, and estimation. Proficiency with GitHub/Bitbucket for version control and collaboration. Experience with Docker for containerization and deployment. Strong command of Microsoft SQL for database management. Familiarity with AWS Infrastructure for cloud-based application hosting. Proficient in Microsoft Visual Studio for development and debugging. Expertise in .Net Core and PHP programming languages. Familiarity with Python for scripting and automation tasks. Experience in project management methodologies and tools. Knowledge of software quality assurance processes and techniques. Background in UI and UX design principles. Experience in API development for integration purposes. Familiarity with machine learning concepts (a plus). Background or experience in artificial intelligence (AI) development (a plus).
