<p>Job Purpose:<br /> Prepares agricultural products by sorting and discarding inferior or defective produce; preparing produce for merchandising and shipping.<br /> <br /> Duties:<br /> * Sorts agricultural produce by segregating produce on conveyor belt or table; applying grade, color, and size distinctions.<br /> <br /> * Segregates acceptable produce by discarding inferior or defective items and foreign matter.<br /> <br /> * Prepares produce for merchandising by bunching, tying, and trimming; selecting choice produce to be used as top layers on marketing containers.<br /> <br /> * Prepares produce for shipping by packing produce in boxes, barrels, baskets, or crates; placing containers on designated conveyors or pallets.<br /> <br /> * Maintains quality results by following inspection and shipping standards.<br /> <br /> * Helps others by answering questions and responding to requests.<br /> <br /> * Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.<br /> <br /> * Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.<br /> <br /> * Enhances produce sorting department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> &nbsp;</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <p>FLUENT IN SPANISH IS REQUIRED</p> <p>Legally authorized to work in the US.</p> <p>Good human relation skills.</p> <p>Good oral and written communication skills.</p> <p>Must be able to maintain a positive and professional attitude.</p> <p>Must be flexible with working schedule.</p> <p>Teamwork ability</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <p>Experience in Fruit/Vegetables quality control or inspection.</p> <p>Knowledge on quality standards for Grapes, Citrus, Apples/Pears, Tropical fruits.</p> <p>Knowledge on postharvest conditions, transportation and storage of fresh produce commodities.</p> <p>Familiarity with product specifications and expectations.</p> <p>In case you do not have fruit background we are looking willing to learn.</p> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>Specific vision abilities required by this job include a high level attention to detail.</p> <p>Must be able to stand long hours, in a variety of conditions that include cold environment.</p>
