If so, read on!The Senior Accountant acts as the controller of a number of assigned entities, understanding the nature of assets, liabilities, income and expense within each general ledger, responsible for all activity and different transactions (i.e., investment brokerage transactions, accounts payable, rental activities, fixed asset accounting, HST accounting, etc.).With overall oversight of financial reporting, corporate accounting, taxation and special projects, the Senior Accountant has the following general responsibilities:Produce accurate annual financial statements for each entity (quarterly statements may be required)Prepare an annual package supporting the financial statements including analyses of current year activity (investment, capital, income statement, etc.) for use by the accounting and tax departments Respond to questions from management and other stakeholders with respect to activities of assigned entities TMGNYJob Requirements:About 5+ years industry or public accounting experience in a small, mid-sized, or private enterprises division of a national firmPreference for candidates with an accredited Canadian accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA or CGA) in good standingMust possess a strong working knowledge of Microsoft ExcelMust have experience maintaining a set of accounting records or working with general ledger accounting Exposure to ASPE, HST and share capital transactions is an assetExperience using JD Edwards, Insight, Write-Up is an assetApply
