As a member of the Hamills site team, the Plant Operator executes the daily tasks of operating and maintaining the aggregate site and in addition, the operator would be asked to assist and help out with screening and crushing operations as required in pit. Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas. Follow all safety requirements and communicate any suggestions or concerns. Ensure that plant and surrounding site is kept safe, presentable, and functional. Maintain environmental sustainability in plant and site operation Plant Operation: Ensure assigned equipment is operated to original equipment manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices and that product outputs meet material quality specifications. Complete, review, and dissect daily, weekly, monthly, and annual plant operation reports and metrics Plant Maintenance: Ensure daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections and preventative maintenance actions are scheduled and completed. Remove, rebuild, and replace component parts as required. Design and fabricate plant components as required. Complete, review, and dissect daily, weekly, monthly, and annual plant and equipment maintenance reports and schedules Other: Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the efficient operation of the plant and site Relationships with Others Jobs: Reports to the Area Supervisor This position requires extensive liaison with site quality control technician and site shipping loader operator Education & Work Experience: Canadian secondary school diploma or equivalent Industrial plant operation experience an asset Heavy mobile equipment operation experience an asset but willing to train the right person Knowledge & Skills: First aid, WHMIS, Surface Miner training, confined space training, working-at-heights training Specific mobile equipment training (especially wheel loader) Welding / fabrication an asset Computer literacy an asset
