Financial Systems Consultant

We are looking for an experienced Financial Systems Consultant to join our Financial Systems team. Reporting to the Manager, Financial Systems, this role will act as a translator between Finance and IT, assisting the Finance teams with systems issues. You will support the financial systems used by the Finance and Accounting teams for any new enhancements, updates, and projects. You will support end-users by applying the technical knowledge of systems and accounting, working with stakeholders to ensure end-to-end processes and information are flowing efficiently and accurately. We are specifically looking for a skilled and designated Accountant who has had experience implementing large ERP systems. This is not a role for someone with just an IT background. The role is primarily remote, but eventually we will be moving to a hybrid work model, with 1-2 days/week in our Markham office. For the right candidate, this role can be fully remote. Responsibilities: Responsible for supporting the ERP system for Finance and Accounting teams Support adjacent systems and processes such as EDI integration, Adaptive Financial Planning (AFP) integration, report development and maintenance, Business Intelligence (BI) and data visualization tools, developing queries in SQL Maintain ongoing relationships and communication with IT for any troubleshooting in existing systems, new builds, and ensuring Finance and Accounting requirements are carried out and configured by IT as needed Support various projects, including system implementation, enhancements, compliance including but not limited to requirement gathering, design, UAT testing, post go-live support/hypercare, training and documentation in an agile environment Identify areas of improvement within the processes and systems Qualifications: Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, Financial Systems Management, etc. CPA designation 5+ years'' relevant work experience, including financial systems implementation and project management Experience with large ERP systems, such as Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, etc., including ability to understand data flow between systems and the financial impact to the GL and reporting Experience and understanding of Accounting & Finance processes, including month-end procedures, internal controls, and reporting Experience with BI tools; Tableau considered an asset Experience with FP&A reporting tools; AFP considered an asset Experience with EDI integration Experience writing queries in SQL Ability to identify system issues in various stages of a project and work with our teams to identify and understand the solution Excellent communication skills; ability to act as a business partner to internal and external stakeholders Experience with NAV considered an asset
