<p><strong>Network Security Support Specialist</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Our Tier I carrier client requires support in a lab environment to design and test a new solution architecture for network-based security services. The platform enhancements will provide the infrastructure necessary to meet new managed security services capabilities for government services.&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Self-directed, works independently without daily oversight</li> <li>Strong work ethic &ndash; reports on time, works a professional day, willing to do whatever tasks are necessary to get the job done (pull wire, etc.)</li> <li>High-degree of professionalism: strong verbal communication skills, excellent customer interface</li> <li>Positive, can-do attitude</li> <li>Applies strong technical skills, technical aptitude, and creativity to troubleshooting / problem solving</li> <li>Able to achieve government clearance HSPD-12 which requires US Citizenship (not required Day 1); the client will sponsor the application process</li> </ul> <p><strong>Education and Certifications:&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Vendor equipment (router and / or security device) certification <ul> <li>Juniper: Service Provider or Enterprise Routing and Switching, Junos Security AND Fortinet (Fortigate Firewall)</li> <li>Cisco Associate and / or Professional levels: CCNA Routing and Switching, CCDA, CCNA Data Center, CCNA Security, CCNP Routing and Switching, CCDP, CCNP Data Center, CCNP Security</li> </ul> </li> <li>ISACA certifications: CISM, CISSP&nbsp;</li> <li>Bachelor&#39;s degree in computer science / related field desired, but not required</li> </ul> <p><strong>Responsibilities:&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Apply patches and IOS upgrades</li> <li>Configure and test network-based security devices (firewalls, proxies, intrusion detection / intrusion prevention, virus scanning) to validate solution architecture and high-level designs&nbsp;</li> <li>Verify that devices configured as per the solution architecture meet requirements&nbsp;</li> <li>Document results and review with client(s)&nbsp;</li> <li>Recommend modifications to improve solution architecture and optimize designs, provide for automation / scalability, etc.&nbsp;</li> <li>Revise solution architecture and high-level designs, as needed&nbsp;</li> <li>Develop design standards / common design templates, hardware and software standards, minimum equipment requirements based on final solution architecture and high- level designs</li> <li>Document operations procedures to install security devices on the network and configure for government use based on solution architecture and designs&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>5-7 years of experience in the following are required:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Patching/IOS upgrade and change control processes</li> <li>Experience with BGP</li> <li>Previous work in a lab environment</li> <li>Enterprise level network administration: layered switching, LAN/WAN, IP, Ethernet</li> <li>Experience with: Cisco routers/switches, Juniper routers (MX 480s a plus), and Fortinet firewalls&nbsp;</li> <li>Familiarity with routing and routing protocols</li> <li>Experience configuring and monitoring data network security devices: proxies, firewalls, intrusion detection / intrusion prevention, virus scanning, etc. and working with fail over scenarios</li> </ul>
