The Role
From coordinating workshops, masterclasses and international exchanges to researching urban issues and preparing communications this is a role that has diversity, richness and impact.You will work with government representatives, industry leaders and academia to drive outcomes that enhance the liveability of Australian cities.

Key aspects of the role include developing and delivering events, researching and writing online articles and newsletters, liaising with experts on topics including urban planning, housing affordability, smart cities, placemaking, and supporting urban leaders to meet the priorities and challenges facing local governments across the country.

The PersonYou will be someone passionate about and understands the urban environment, key challenges, trends and solutions.
You will be an organizer who takes initiative with an ability to research and connect information and confidence to use digital platforms. You will have a personable approach and able to develop and manage relationships with elected representatives, senior executives across the public and private sector.

Essential:

  • Minimum two years program coordinator and/or event management experience
  • Good Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word etc) skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Mailchimp, Wix, GSuite, Survey Monkey, social media
  • Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign)
  • Flexibility to travel nationally and internationally
  • Working knoweldge of planning environment in the United States
  • Strong research capabilities
Preferred:
  • Experience working with local government
  • Post graduate degree in urban planning or international relations
Would suit graduate in urban design, urban planning, public policy, international relations, international and global studies, or similar discipline.The OrganisationThe Cities Leadership Institute is an Australian not-for-profit dedicated to building the capacity of urban leaders to make cities, towns and communities great places.

The Offer
