The Events Assistant will provide pre-event, on-site and post-event support for the Events Manager and the Development Team. Currently, Lazarus House’s annual fundraising events include the Drive for Dignity Golf Tournament, Boston Marathon, Hike for Hope 5K Walk/Run, and Sharing Our Bounty Gala and Auction. Due to the event schedule the Events Assistant must be able to work a flexible schedule based on event needs including some nights and weekends.

The primary responsibility of the Events Assistant is to assist the Events Manager execute successful Signature Events. Duties/responsibilities include:

• Working with the events manager to meet deadlines as outlined in the event production schedule.
• Supporting the event marketing/promotional strategies by working alongside the Event Manager and Communications Department.
• Coordinating with the Volunteer Department to meet the volunteer needs for each event.
• Data entry and reporting of event information in the donor management system(s).
• Assist with ordering and tracking inventory of event collateral.
• Assist with the branding/design of the collateral.
• Soliciting (cold and warm calls), acquiring and tracking auction items and creating write-ups for our online auction system.
• Participating in Event Planning Committee Meetings by taking meeting minutes, tracking deadlines, and action items.
• Preparing correspondence for the Events Manager and performing outreach as needed.
• Assisting with mailings, compiling lists, and proofreading/editing documents as needed.
• Working with third party vendors and organizations on events.
• Coordinate logistics for events with existing and new contacts.
• Managing in-kind acknowledgements for the Development Team.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrate strong commitment to the mission of Lazarus House Ministries.
• Ability to self-start, multitask and prioritize.
• Ability to work individually as well as within a team environment.
• Strong writing and project management skills.
• Excellent organizational, planning, interpersonal (written and verbal).
• Ability to work evenings and some weekends will be required.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity of social media, Raiser’s Edge, OneCause/BidPal, Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Canva.
• Bi-lingual (English-Spanish) a plus.
