This is a rewarding opportunity to provide full range of Integrative Medicine services to our active-duty, retired military, and their families.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Duties/Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide a full range of Integrative Medicine services.&nbsp;</li> <li>Technically direct, perform, or assist in the instruction of, other health care professionals seeing patients within the scope of their clinical privileges or responsibilities.&nbsp;</li> <li>Provide educational instruction to residents, medical students, and student registered nurse anesthetists.</li> <li>Prescribe and dispense medications as delineated by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.&nbsp;</li> <li>Promote preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling.&nbsp;</li> <li>Request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.&nbsp;</li> <li>Order diagnostic tests as applicable.&nbsp;</li> <li>Medical services provided shall include, but are not limited to, the following listed procedures: patient evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, planning, and follow up of pain patients.&nbsp;</li> <li>Integrative Medicine procedure may include acupuncture, guided imagery, meditation, yoga, biofeedback, integrative therapy, aromatherapy, etc.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Degree/Education</strong><strong>:</strong>&nbsp;Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.)&nbsp;</li> <li><strong>Experience</strong><strong>:&nbsp;</strong>Have completed 300-hour acupuncture training course and one-year experience in acupuncture therapy. Have experience in other modalities of alternative, functional or integrative medicine. Other modalities of therapy that may be used include biofeedback, guided imagery, hypnosis, meditation, aromatherapy, and yoga. Herbal therapy and homeotherapy are not currently supported within the military medical facilities and these techniques cannot be used unless permission is received from the Commanding Officer via staff privileging process.&nbsp;</li> <li><strong>Board Certification</strong><strong>:</strong>&nbsp;Current board certification in primary specialty</li> <li><strong>Registration</strong><strong>:</strong>&nbsp;Must be registered with the Board to perform acupuncture in Maryland</li> <li><strong>Licensure</strong><strong>:</strong>&nbsp;Must be in good standing, and under no clinical restrictions, with the state licensure board in any state in which a license is held. Must maintain current certification in required training. Shall be current with and have completed all continuing education requirements specified by applicable professional licensure or certification.</li> <li>Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification</li> </ul>
